Bryan Singer is video blogging (vlogging?) the filming of Superman Returns at bluetights.net.

“Issue” #22 includes film of his visit to the San Diego ComicCon and a piece of the 20 minutes of film he showed during his presentation.

“Issue” #23 includes a shot from behind of Mr. Spacey dressed as Lex Luthor (dressed as Dr. Evil?)

I feel giddy, Oh so giddy. I feel geeky and breezy and gay!!!

um … except for the gay part… cuz I’m not, y’know… AM NOT!!!

Well, duh!

Have I mentioned I am an attention-whore and love receiving comments? The first time you post the comment is moderated, but you can accept a cookie to avoid future moderation. I promise I will moderate comments as soon as I see them and probably even respond. Hello?

why will no one love me?

Hope you like the new pics

I finally got off my duff and cut together some of my own pics for the Random Image Theme banner at the top here. The little girl asleep on the couch is my daughter Audrey, the Bears are actually one Spectacled Bear at the Brookfield Zoo that I flipped and pasted in Photoshop. The Moon came with Windows XP and the Light Saber is mine. I am a Jedi Master.

Moving again…

For those of you who get my blog via feed, with help from David at Facade of Americana, I have moved Catastrophic Success from http://www.misterbixby.com/blog to http://www.misterbixby.com. Not being overly familiar with WordPress and php, I don’t know how long the index.php file at /blog will continue to update, so please update your links accordingly.

To all my faithful followers…

I have to apologize (AGAIN!) for the lack of content updates to this site. We have been running ragged between foiled vacation plans, an ungodly hectic work schedule, a resurgence of the aneurysmal bone cyst in Madelyn’s arm, a crashed main PC, and an attempt at some quality marriage time. In addition, I have been having a bit of a crisis of faith regarding this blog. I’m still not indexed by Google (I think maybe due to my lack of a front page – MisterBixby.com currently forwards to this blog through a .htaccess redirect) so that venue of traffic is eliminated (screwing my GoogleAds in the process). I also am not too well known, and I don’t think I have much of a solid unifying viewpoint. I have to re-think my approach to blogging before I dive more deeply into it.

I will keep you posted. The only thing going for me is that at least I still update more frequently than Bill Whittle, though with half the quality.

Sorry folks.

Blogging has been non-existent this week, and will continue to be light to null throughout the weekend as Mrs. Bixby (Not Her Real Name) will be participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this weekend (donations acceptable through noon tomorrow) and we will be leapfrogging her from cheering station to cheering station. Once it is complete, I’ll post the link for pictures and tales of tribulations when available. Friday Funnies may not even make an appearance this week. I’ll try to find the funny though so you will have giggles throughout the weekend.

Upcoming post topics:

  • Memorial Day thoughts re: my familial service members, and my non-participation guilt
  • Religion: Why do people believe, why do converts change their entire life, can an atheist have purpose, is such a thing relevant? (see: Mean Mr. Mustard for partial inspiration.
  • The eternal struggle between playing a Rogue vs. Magic User.
  • Feelings of inadequacy re: teeny tiny blog-fish in a gigantic blog-ocean.
  • The really cool goings-on at DC Comics lately in the lead-up to Infinite Crisis. It’s wicked bad cool!!!!! < /geek>
  • Work has been very busy lately and has really cut into my blogging time. Sad thing that.

    D’Oh! Part II

    Thursday, May 26th, 2005

I really messed it up this time. I was trying to upgrade my WordPress from 1.5 to 1.5.1.1. It turns out that I was looking at the wrong Wiki for the upgrade (apparently, the new install one instead). It also turns out that I really don’t have clue one what I am doing. I overwrote all of my WP files, created a new database and managed to apparently wipe my entire blog. This, if true, is highly disappointing, to say the least. I hope against hope that you would be able to restore my blog from a recent back-up. If so, I promise, I will love you forever. No really. I mean it. Not in a weird way. Just a platonic passionate love a user feels for the wizard-like techie who saves his unknowledgeable hind end. You have always treated me great in the past, so I know you will have done everything possible to help me, even if I really did dump the whole thing down the memory hole. Thanks folks.

    Love Always,
    MisterBixby, Idiot User.

This is the actual ticket I submitted to LivingDot support. I hope it brought them a chuckle. I must tell you that the support system at LivingDot, my host, has been incredible. I submitted this ticket at 11:45. I had a response by 11:53 and while the response was essentially, “Don’t worry, we perform nightly back-ups, but I can’t restore it tonight. The day shift can do it when they get here,” when I checked my blog at 8 a.m., my blog was fully restored.

Those of you who don’t get InstaPundit traffic and are looking for affordable and knowledgeable hosting should really look at LivingDot for your blog hosting needs. I couldn’t be more satisfied. Thanks again guys.

This has been an unpaid testamonial for LivingDot blog hosting services. The writer makes this statement out of sheer joy at their splendiferous service.

    D’oh!!!

I was just being all bummed how I was getting no comments, and then, like a moron, realized I had 9 comments in queue waiting for approval because I set first-time commenters to be moderated. If you left a comment in the last week (since that’s where most of them seem to be), I apologize for not moderating them in a timely manner. Hopefully, if you left comments before (and you have cookies activated for my site), you shouldn’t have to be moderated again. Please email me if it happens again.
